Named in honor of our favourite post-ride taqueria, the Marin El Roy is our take on the perfect winch-up, shred-down hardcore hardtail. We’ve combined the soul of steel with super-modern, gravity-focused geometry and paired it up with big-trucking 29” wheels and a build-kit that’ll take on the roughest and toughest of trails.
The Marin El Roy is built around a Series 3 double-butted and formed CrMo frame. Up front is the iconic Marzocchi Z1 fork (140mm) and we’ve hand-picked a kick-ass components list that we’re proud to ride, including a 12-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain, X-Fusion Manic dropper post, 4-piston Shimano disc brakes and sticky Maxxis Assegai tires in 29x2.5”.
El Roy is available in two sizes - ‘Regular’ and ‘Grande’.

Reviews
If you’re in the market for a downhill-oriented hardtail that can truly hold its own, there are few stock options as well sorted as the Marin El Roy.
"The Marin El Roy is just about as dialed as a hardtail can be for descending fast, or descending steep, or both. The flip side is the El Roy doesn’t climb as well as less aggressive hardtails. Aside from the wheels the build kit is spot on for its intended use, and offers a ton of value at this price point. I give the El Roy style points as well for its steel frame construction and glossy blue and red paint job."
